How To Play

The object of the 56 Hit Streak game is to develop a hit streak of your own, using real-time statistics from professional baseball players. Select one player each day from a list of active players and earn a “hit” if your selected player gets a hit in that day’s game. String together multiple days in which you earn a “hit” and win great prizes for your hit streak!

Select a Player Each Day
Each day during the season, you can select one player from the list of that day’s active players. There is no limit on how many times you can select a player throughout the season – if you want to ride the hot streak of one player, or choose a new hitter each day, it is all up to you.  Keep in mind that you are simply trying to get a “hit” of any kind; a single is just as valuable as a home run.

Player Selection Deadline - For each daily player selection you make, you must select your player prior to the official start time of that players game. For example, players who have afternoon games, will not be available if you go to make your selection in the evening.   The list will only have players remaining from games not yet started.

If you fail to select a player prior to the Player Selection Deadline (when no players are remaining on the choose hitters page), you will not earn a “hit” for that day and your current hit streak will be reset to zero.

Participants can join the 56 Hit Streak Challenge game at any time during the regular season.

Game Scoring

• You earn a “hit” for each day that your selected player for that day has a hit in his actual game (if your player participates in a double-header, he only needs to get a hit in one of the games in order to keep your hit streak alive. You will only earn one hit for your hit streak that day, even if your player gets a hit in both of the double-header games. You must choose a player in a double header before the first game begins).
• Your hit streak increases each day as long as you correctly select a player who gets a hit.
• If you select a player who does not get a hit on the designated day, your hit streak ends and you start over at zero.
• If you select a player for a given day and that player does not play, does not record an official at-bat, then the player selection does not count towards your streak and your current streak remains intact.
• Any player selection included in a game that is suspended will be considered a push and your streak will remain the same, in the same manner as if your player selection did not receive an official at bat.  The player selection will not be counted even if that player had a hit before the game was suspended.
• For purposes of the 56 Hit Streak game, the term “hit streak” or “hitting streak” shall mean a streak of consecutive days on which a participant correctly chooses a player to earn a hit on the selected day.
• Only hits occurring during the current regular season shall be considered for purposes of determining 56 Hit Streak scoring and prizes.  Streaks do not carry over from one year to the next.

Scoring Ties

For purposes of awarding Prizes as set forth in these Official Rules, in the event of a tie between two or more participants for any of the overall prizes, the following tie breaker rules will be applied:

• The team with the most hits from all player selections "during" their longest winning streak
• The team with the highest batting average from all player selections "during" their longest winning streak

If a tie still exists, cash equivalent prizes will be substituted for any electronics and all tied teams will receive an equal share.

For purposes of awarding Prizes as set forth in these Official Rules, in the event of a tie between two or more participants for the Monthly Prize, the following tie breaker rules will be applied:

• The highest batting average of your player selections for the current month
• The participant with longest current hit steak

If a tie still exists, the teams who remain tied will split the monthly prize equally.

Join a Group

You may choose to join a public group or create a private group to compete against your friends. There are no prizes for group winners; all prizes are awarded in accordance with the terms of the Prizes section below and these Official Rules.

Prizes

Participants may start many streaks to try and generate a "Best" streak that is eligible for prizing. Only your longest/best streak will be stored in the Best Streak standings.

Prizes are distributed once the contest is over and all streaks are finalized.

Streak Prizes

57-Game Hitting Streak: Grand Prize The first participant of the 56 Hit Streak Challenge who generates a hitting streak of 57 games or more will win $10,000 cash. Only one GRAND PRIZE of $10,000 shall be awarded; participants generating a 57-game hitting streak after the GRAND PRIZE has been awarded will earn $1000.

1st Place Hit Streak The participant with the longest (best) hit streak when the 56 Hit Streak season is complete will win $1000

2nd Place Hit Streak The participant with the second-longest hit streak when the 56 Hit Streak season is complete will win an Xbox 360

3rd Place Hit Streak The participant with the third-longest hit streak when the 56 Hit Streak season is complete will win an 8 GB iPod

Monthly Prizes The 56 Hit Streak Challenge participant who generates the most hits within each calendar month during the Hit Streak season will win $25. Every hit by the player you chose, for each calendar day in a month a player selection is made, will contribute to your total hits for the month. Your streak during the month is not relevant to winning the prize.

Season

56 Hit Streak runs from the opening pitch of the first regular season game from each season, to the end of the last regular season game of each season (playoff games are not included).

Cost

56 Hit Streak Challenge is free to all participants. Limit one (1) registered team per person. Registered users must provide their valid e-mail address in order to be eligible for any prize(s).

Eligibility Requirements

Participation in the 56 Hit Streak Challenge game and the award of any prize is subject to Sponsor Official Rules. Any participant whose actions do not comply with Sponsor Official Rules is ineligible to participate and/or win prizes. Sponsor reserves the right to make non-material changes to the Rules at any time. To be eligible to win any prize offered at or in connection with 56 Hit Streak, a participant must be 18 years of age or older and must reside in any of the 50 U.S. states, Washington D.C., or Canada (residents of Puerto Rico and Quebec are not eligible) where the receipt of the prize(s) is allowed by law. Persons not meeting the age or residency requirements set forth herein may play the game but are not eligible to win any prizes. Sponsor may substitute actual prizes for items of like value in the event that the described prizes are unavailable for any reason. By registering to play the game, each participant acknowledges that he/she has read this notice, which shall serve as official notice of the rules and eligibility requirements pertaining to all prizes offered in connection with the game. Neither Sponsor nor any of its partners or affiliates shall have any additional obligation to notify or instruct game participants with regard to eligibility requirements. Participation in the game must not be done in conjunction with any form of gambling. All prize winners will be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release and, where lawful, a Publicity Release authorizing Sponsor and any of its partners or affiliates to use the participant's identifying information and likeness for promotional, marketing and reporting purposes, without additional compensation to the participant. Offers to play the game and/or win associated prizes are void in all jurisdictions where such is/are prohibited. Any participant who wins any prize shall be solely responsible for any associated federal, state or other tax liabilities related thereto. Participants with any questions regarding eligibility or the application of the Official Rules should contact Sponsor prior to registering to play the game.

The 56 Hit Streak game is not affiliated with Major League Baseball in any way. Operation of and user participation in the game shall be conducted in conformity with the Official Rules. All participants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor, who will serve as the final arbiter in all disputes arising between participants and their teams and/or leagues, including, but not limited to, game-play disputes, rules violations, rules interpretations, manipulation of teams or leagues, vulgar, obscene threatening or illegal conduct, etc. Sponsor reserves the right to make, interpret and enforce all of the rules set forth herein. If for any reason the game is not capable of operating in accordance with the Official Rules, including reasons such as infection by computer virus, tampering, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond Sponsor’s control which impacts the security, integrity, or proper operation of this game, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the game in whole or any part. If the game is so affected, Sponsor shall, at its sole discretion, award or not award prizes as it determines to be appropriate.
